The Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Marketing effective September 16, 2022. This is a full-time position with a 9-month service period.

The successful candidate will be expected to perform high quality research and teach a variety of Marketing courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and be willing to provide service to the university, the business school, and the community.

Applicants from all research areas of Marketing are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will teach in one or more of the following areas: Marketing management, Marketing strategy, Marketing research, Consumer marketing, Services marketing, Salesforce management, Digital marketing, Sports marketing, and Retailing.

The Milgard School of Business, named in recognition of a multi-million dollar gift from the Milgard family, enjoys strong relationships with businesses and the South Puget Sound community. The AACSB-accredited Milgard School currently has more than 650 students in its undergraduate, MBA, Masters of Science in Accounting (MSAcc), Masters in Business Analytics (MSBA), and Masters in Cybersecurity and Leadership (MCL) programs, in addition to undergraduate minor in business data analytics, sports enterprise management, and corporate responsibility. The School’s Center for Leadership and Social Responsibility and Center for Business Analytics offer opportunities for teaching, research and community outreach.

Qualifications

 

Applicants must have a PhD degree (or foreign equivalent) in Marketing from an AACSB accredited institution. Applicants must demonstrate excellence with respect to scholarly research, and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We seek candidates who will contribute as engaged colleagues to serve our growing school and campus.

We seek candidates who have experience and/or desire to teach in multiple modalities, including online, hybrid and in-person, as well as teach in an urban-serving campus environment with a diverse student body, many of whom are first generation college students. In addition, we are seeking candidates whose research and teaching interests will strengthen and complement the Milgard School’s core values of promoting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in pedagogy and practice.
