Summary
The Pediatric Pulmonary Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) program at Texas Children's Hospital is comprised of a highly experienced, multidisciplinary team focused on BPD and other ventilatory dependent pediatric patients. The physicians involved with BPD provide excellent patient care and are looking for a registered nurse to join our team to extend our abilities to care for and manage chronically dependent patients, join in quality improvement and research projects. To manage daily clinical and personnel activities for the Department. Participates and coordinates the delivery of high quality, family centered and developmentally appropriate patient care. Collaborates with ancillary departments to ensure timely and appropriate care.
Job Duties
- Responsible and accountable for the daily care coordination of patients within area of clinical subspecialty.
- Provides education concerning various aspects of the care.
- Coordinates nursing care of patients across various departments and subspecialty services by demonstrating commitment to team, flexibility, professional interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
- Collects and maintains data on patient referrals and consults, and effectively manages program.
- Collaborates with other members of the team and other key stakeholders.
- Ensures staffing needs are met.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Four years of relevant experience.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of
Texas Board of Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Eligibility or Certification in Case Management by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
- Knowledge of nursing and surgical procedures.
- The ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to problem solve and multi-task.
- The ability to work independently.
- The ability to handle confidential patient information.
