Department Statement Accountabilities
The Director for Athletics Communications is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of communications on behalf of the Division of Physical Education, Recreation, and Athletics ( PERA ), including the University’s 25 Division I varsity athletics programs. These duties include, but are not limited to, social media and web content, media relations, overall strategic communication efforts, and Sports Information Director responsibilities for one premier winter sport and two to three Olympic sports. The position supervises the Manager, Athletics Communication and reports to the Senior Director, Communications and Media Relations. This position works closely with members of the Colgate athletics department. Professional Experience/ Qualifications
A minimum of 5–7 years experience in intercollegiate athletics, communications, project management, marketing, public relations, or journalism.

Proven ability to think strategically, aligning department objectives and strategic plans with the mission of the University and organizational goals.

Excellent writing, editing, publication, and project management skills.

Demonstrated experience in building identity and developing key messages for use with a broad range of constituencies. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of digital communications best practices strongly preferred.

Experience with SideArm or Presto web platforms, NCAA LiveStats, Stat Crew, Automated Scorebook, and other statistical software preferred.

Knowledge or experience in higher education is preferred Education
