Position Summary:
The Regional Mathematics Specialist will work with colleagues at
Lewis-Clark State College, collaborating with statewide Regional
Math Center staff and the Idaho State Department of Education, to
design and implement high-quality mathematics professional
development for K-12 teachers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a
closely related field of study (Masters Degree preferred)
2+ years of K-12 teaching experience or equivalent
Willingness to travel in order to attend and facilitate
professional development opportunities
Demonstrated exemplary mathematics content and pedagogical
knowledge for K-8 or 4-12 mathematics
Preferred Qualifications:
Idaho teaching certificate
Master’s Degree in Education with a focus on Mathematics Education
or equivalent
Experience designing and facilitating mathematics professional
development
Teaching and/or coaching experience at the elementary, middle,
and/or high school level
Leadership skills to foster communication and collaboration between
teachers, administrators, departments, etc.
Adept at time management to effectively plan for and complete
multiple tasks independently
