Farmer School of Business: The Associate Director for External Relations engages key external stakeholders to help with fund raising, increased job opportunities for our students and alumni involvement within the Farmer School of Business.

The Associate Director for External Relations essential duties include and are not limited to:

  • Plan and execute campus hosting and events of key Farmer School of Business (FSB) stakeholders. Conduct research to identify key stakeholders, initiate contact, extend invitation, organize visit, determine appropriate course connections, and liaise with faculty and dean's staff to coordinate entire visit of corporate executives to FSB.
  • Plan and execute special events such as the Farmer School Executive Speaker Series (3-5 events per semester), the annual Anderson Distinguished Lecture Series hosted in Millett Hall for 3k – 5k guests and the Farmer School Divisional Recognition Ceremony.
  • Support the Associate Vice President with the management and engagement of the 30 member FSB Young Professional Advisory Council. Duties include the planning and execution of 2 meetings a year (1 on campus and 1 off campus), campus visits by the members throughout the year.
  • Lead coordinator of FSB immersion programs such as the New York based Wall Street Week program, Chicago Finance Week and Chicago Advertising / Marketing Week and the Cincinnati Immersion Program. These events generally include 25 students, 10-15 corporate visits per program and an alumni reception with 50 guests plus students and faculty.
  • Serve as liaison between FSB and various ranking publication such as Poets & Quants for Undergraduates for the annual rankings of undergraduate business school programs and US News & World Report. Responsibilities include: gather data from all University constituents; survey the graduating class to determine outcomes-related career statistics; assist with the report out to FSB boards on the results of the rankings and methodology used to rank the schools.

Required: Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years related work experience, event planning, social media, Microsoft Office, and virtual communication platforms. Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Consideration may be given to candidates with demonstrated event management experience, demonstrated customer facing engagement experience, experience compiling data via surveys and then working w/ the data to determine what it is indicating then making recommendations based on it.
