The administrative specialist will work as a member of the Athletics Development staff, reporting to the Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Development. Responsibilities include assisting with and coordinating day-to-day operations of the Athletics Development. This includes coordinating meetings and travel reservations for the Sr. Associate Athletic Director, reconciling monthly expenses, review of individual staff member expenses, management of the annual budget, and coordinating agendas and minutes for staff meetings. Other responsibilities include staffing events and overseeing game day hospitality spaces, managing the Athletics Development office in the absence of the Executive Director, and maintaining a connection with external operations relating to the Athletics Development, including, but not limited to the Varsity Club, the Hardwood Club and the Syracuse Football Club.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, business degree would be helpful, 2-3 years of office administration experience working with budgets, accounts, and class scheduling. Also, skills designing and maintaining data base and spreadsheets, as well as complicated word-processing. Job Specific Qualifications
Experience working in a customer service environment, communicate with general public and donors in an efficient and professional manner, and develop relationships with donors.

Knowledge of database systems and how to effectively manueuver within donor database systems.

Ability to set priorities and handle multiple assignments and deadlines.

Display good judgement and ability to work independently.

Understanding of University/ NCAA athletic events including game day hospitality and donor events.

Knowledge of Microsoft office products, ticketing system, and University advancement systems.

Ability to coordinate and collaborate with colleagues within Athletics and Advancement and External Affairs.

General knowledge and awareness of NCAA rules, especially as they pertain to University boosters and booster clubs Responsibilities
Assisting the Executive Director with day-to-day tasks and management of the Athletics Development office as well as assist the Executive Director with the coordination of his daily calendar, travel reservations and accommodations, and the preparation of related monthly expenses.

Assist the Executive Director with the management of important internal administrative tasks; the management of the annual budget, coordination of the various office calendars, processing of purchase requisitions, and the review and reconciliation of individual staff member expenses.

Attend and assist Athletics Development staff members with the management of game-related, and other special-event hospitality functions.

Assist the Executive Director in maintaining a connection with certain external operations related to or working in concert with the Orange Club. These currently include, but may not be limited to: the Varsity Club, the Hardwood Club and the Syracuse Football Club.

Provide the Executive Director with reports and research of prospective athletic donors as requested, often working in conjunction with the Advancement and External Affairs research team.

Manage and supervise student interns in the office.

Serve as a liaison to other Athletic Department and Advancement and External Affairs operations. Physical Requirements
