Description

The Department of Statistics and Data Sciences is seeking to hire one or more fixed-contract lecturers (non-tenure track) to teach undergraduate level courses in statistics and data science. Fall 2021 is the anticipated start date. The positions may be full or part time.

The department is dedicated to the goal of building a culturally diverse and pluralistic faculty and staff committed to teaching and working in a multicultural and diverse environment. We are therefore interested in candidates who will contribute to such diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching.

Qualifications

A Master's degree in Statistics or related field is required; Ph.D. in Statistics or related field is preferred, at the time of appointment. Previous teaching experience is preferred. The full-time teaching load is three courses per semester.

All applicants should submit a cover letter, a CV and a statement of teaching philosophy, and should arrange for three letters of support to be provided under separate cover. Collectively, these letters should provide the search committee with information that can be used to assess the candidate's (potential) teaching abilities and breadth of knowledge about the practice of of statistics and data science. Applicants should not submit any supplemental material.

Background check will be conducted on applicants selected for the positions.
