– Assist with maintenance of a research laboratory, including maintaining sufficient supplies of deionized water, washing glassware, autoclaving waste, and maintaining the autoclave and other laboratory equipment

– Perform routine experiments in molecular biology

– Assist with animal experiments

– Ability to accept direction

– Ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, and other employees Required Qualifications
– A bachelor degree in related fields (i.e., biology, chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, etc.)

– Experience of the routine lab techniques (i.e., cell culture, western blot, immunofluorescence, PCR, molecular cloning, ELISA )

– Willingness and self-motivation to perform the required duties

– Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as an employee at VCU Preferred Qualifications
