Position Summary

Health Services is accepting applications in an effort to fill the Immunization Compliance Nurse position. As the Immunization Compliance Nurse, your duties will include:
  • Assist with health requirement operations for Health Services to ensure compliance with NYS Public Health Laws and University policy.
  • Serve as a liaison to health-related professional schools in monitoring the health requirements for their registered students
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal and regulatory matters that may impact the immunization compliance program for health-related students, and update policies and procedures accordingly
  • Provide process improvement recommendations as appropriate
  • Track patients with positive tuberculosis testing
  • Provide direct patient care as necessary

Minimum Qualifications
  • Eligible for or possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Current CPR / AED Certification
  • Experience in a medical office or school health setting with an electronic health record system.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to vaccination and laboratory testing for immunity is required.
  • Familiarity with NYSDOH Public Health Law 2165 and 2167 and immunization/testing requirements for the health-related professional.
