The UWO Counseling Center is looking for a dynamic, skilled, positive psychology focused Counselor who coordinates the Center's AODA program. This position's primary role is a clinical counselor. It also provides oversight to our AODA intervention and prevention services for our campus. Responsibilities

30% AODA Program Coordination

  • Coordinate all aspects of the AODA intervention programs.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise bachelor level practicum students and master’s level counselor trainees to lead AODA group and individual sessions.
  • Maintain appropriate scheduling of intervention programs.
  • Provide ongoing review and updating of intervention programs
  • Complete an annual review of intervention programs to ensure best practice standards are being met
  • Facilitate groups and meet with students as needed.
  • Provide specialized training to Residence Life on AODA intervention programs.
  • Provide specialized training across campuses on AODA topics.
  • Develop and nurture collaborative relationships across campuses and the community.
  • Provide leadership, strategic development and implementation of goals with the UW Oshkosh AODA Task Force.
  • Responsibility for ensuring that the Center is providing best practices and innovative AODA programming. This includes being fluent in up to date research in the area.
  • Providing robust prevention campaigns to campuses.
  • Providing ongoing outreach campaigns that have a meaningful impact on AODA prevention on campus.
  • Maintain updated information on social media and webpage.
  • Coordinate and write the biennial UWS AODA review. Write annual report for AODA program.
  • Ensure that direct services and outreach programs are based on best practices and multicultural competence and equity and justice understanding.
  • Conduct the UW System AODA Survey on campus: coordinate with the UW System AODA Committee on system-wide effort and prepare and present the results to constituents on campus.
  • Participate in the UW System AODA Committee and participate in the UW System AODA Coordinator’s Group.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of outreach, training, and sanctioning program outcomes and satisfaction.

Qualifications Required:

Masters in mental health related field.

Individual must be fully licensed in their mental health related field of study within 2 years of hire.

Experience with AODA counseling and treatment.

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred:

Previous experience in the provision of mental health services in a college setting.

Experience with short term treatment.

Understanding of positive psychology approaches.

Well versed in best practices in the field of AODA services in a college setting. To Apply:
