Morningside University, located in Sioux City, Iowa, is pleased to announce its search for the University’s thirteenth President. Morningside seeks a visionary and ambitious leader with high energy and a dynamic presence who will build on the incredible momentum of the University over the last two decades. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a leader who has an entrepreneurial spirit as well as an understanding of the higher education landscape and a desire to take on the opportunities and challenges it presents. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core values for Morningside and will be key priorities for the next President. The successful candidate will succeed President John Reynders, who has led Morningside College, now University, with high distinction for more than two decades.

The new president will be deeply committed to academic excellence and learning both within and beyond the classroom, with a “students first” approach. 

It is preferred that the successful candidate hold a terminal degree and have substantial higher education or other relevant experience. The University expects to appoint the new President in early 2022, with a start date of on or about July 1, 2022. 

The new President will live in the welcoming five-county metropolitan area of 170,000 people, the hub of which is Sioux City. The City sits amidst the boundaries of three jurisdictions, two of which made MoneyRates.com’s 2019 top ten best states to raise a child – Iowa and South Dakota.
