Job Summary: Library Clerk 2 position at Drake Memorial Library responsibilities include but are not limited to copy cataloging new materials, managing print subscriptions, and process lending requests in ILLiad.

Essential Functions:

  • Monographs/cataloging:
    • Copies catalog books and media, including firm orders, standing orders, and donations.
    • Performs cataloging and processing corrections as needed.
    • Performs the physical processing of books and media.
  • Processes items for deselection.
  • Remains abreast of trends and developments in technical services technologies and workflows as they relate to cataloging.
  • Periodicals:
  • Manages print periodicals and standing orders.
  • Receives, checks in, processes and shelves print subscriptions.
  • Claims missing issues and tracks claims.
  • Oversees maintenance of print periodical collections.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have permanent appointment in a Library Clerk 2 classified position, OR be eligible for transfer, OR be reachable for appointment on the current NY State Civil Service canvass list for Library Clerk 2.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of cataloging and metadata entry
  • Library of Congress classification system
  • MARC records
  • Experience cataloging/metadata experience using ALMA/PRIMO
  • Serials processing
    Work Schedule: 37.5 hours/ week, Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm Salary and Benefits: $37,507, May be benefits eligible; more information at Careers@Brockport.
