Western Wyoming Community College invites applications for a 10-month Instructor/Assistant Professor of Paramedic/Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to begin Fall 2021.

The primary responsibility of this individual is to provide quality instruction to Western students enrolled in a variety of classes taught at the main campus in Rock Springs and at the Green River Center. Teaching an Internet course will be common with this position.  This individual must be able to relate to a wide variety of students in the community college environment including local business audiences seeking industry-training programs. This individual’s responsibilities will include teaching courses in Paramedic/Emergency Medical Services (EMS), as well as other courses for which they are qualified and assigned. A primary responsibility of this position will be the development, implementation and assessment of the new Paramedic program, which is in compliance with the expectations of the Commission on the Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and the Commission of om Accreditation of the EMS Professions (CoAEMSP).

Teaching loads range from 28 to 32 credit hours for an academic year.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science degree in Paramedics/Emergency Services or a closely related discipline relevant to the department. Licensure in the State of Wyoming and National Registry as a paramedic before employment begins. A minimum of three (3) years of experience as an EMT, Paramedic, or Firefighter. Two (2) years of relevant clinical experience as an EMT, Paramedic, or Firefighter.

Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Master’s degree of Science degree in Paramedics/Emergency Services or a closely related discipline relevant to the department. Two (2) years of teaching experience in college level teaching.
