We are recruiting for a Social Media Analyst. The incumbent will be the “go-to” resource for all data-driven insights and optimization recommendations relating to The Fellowship’s social media presence and target audience.
The Social Media Analyst will be responsible for contributions in several key areas:
Organic Data Analysis
- Partner with stakeholders to select key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns and events. Collaborate with enabling functions (e.g., Technology, Data Analytics, etc.) to capture and analyze pertinent data/metrics and insights to drive and optimize future positioning, content, and planning.
- Establish, maintain, and communicate analytics dashboard showing overall social media effectiveness, including audience and creative performance analysis as well as insights from social listening platforms.
- Research, monitor, and recommend adoption of emerging social media technologies, trends, and best practices. Test and validate content and posting options.
- Provide ad hoc reports to communicate key metrics and findings and recommendations to create or revise online channel strategy.
Paid Data Analysis
- Maintain and communicate an internal score card of paid social media advertising. Regularly meet with vendors, challenging and validating their recommendations and reporting.
Community Engagement
- Contribute to the planning and brainstorming of social media content.
- Build connections and encourage engagement through community dialogue and messaging.
- Monitor user-generated content; assist with crisis management, bad reviews, and negative news communications; and relay community sentiment to applicable stakeholder.
Departmental Support
- Provide for the administration and processing of the following:
- Reconciliation and processing of vendor invoices,
- Generation and filing of motivational codes, and
- Creation of URLs.
The ideal candidate will have the following experiences and abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics or Statistics or proven practical experience
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in the digital analytics field as it specifically pertains to social media projects and initiatives
- Deep understanding of social media platforms, their history and current state, with an emphasis on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn; secondarily Twitter
- Good command of paid vs. organic social media and how it cultivates revenue and name acquisition
- Knowledge of measurement tools (PowerBI, in-platform metrics) and hands-on experience with key digital platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, LiveRamp) and social listening tools
- Capable of interpreting, using, and simplifying quantitative and qualitative data to recommend, persuade, inform, measure, and iterate
- Experience working with social monitoring/listening tools
- Ability to turn large amounts of data into actionable insights and recommendations
- Willing and able to be an effective ambassador for the Social Team, building meaningful relationships and liaising with diverse internal functions such as Analytics, Brand, Education, Marketing & Communications, Human Resources, and senior leadership
- Keen interest and affinity for social media and data
- Self-starter with interest in identifying new partnerships and technologies
- Ability to project manage organic and paid testing agenda
- Strong strategic and problem-solving skills; High level of emotional intelligence that fosters positive team interactions
