Contributes to the electrical services team by efficiently maintaining electrical equipment, lighting equipment and fire alarm systems following accepted procedures and techniques of the electrical trade. Collaborates on environmental sustainability initiatives and champion socially conscious behavior.

Full-time (40 hours/week) year round, Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm. Must rotate with team members to be "on-call" every third week 24/7 (subject to change) Considered “Essential Personnel” when the need arises; report to or remain at work if instructed to do so. Schedule may vary according to departmental and Academy needs.

Key Accountabilities
  • Utilize mobile devices and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to receive, document, and complete work order requests.
  • Observing and reporting through the CMMS, defects, deterioration, and wear and tear on the facilities.
  • Proficient use of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Comply with regulatory codes and requirements while maintain campus electrical equipment and systems.
  • Preventative maintenance checks or inspect to see that systems or electrical units continue to function properly.
  • Figure or estimate material requirements to complete a job.
  • Skillfully interpret schematic drawings, blueprints, operation sequences, charts, and technical instructions.
  • Installing new work and complete renovation projects.
  • Repair and maintain wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.
  • Repair, maintain, and perform Life Safety Systems Testing and Inspections as directed and per code.
  • Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
  • Repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and install all electrical systems which would include but not limited to electrical distribution systems, lighting control systems, fire alarm systems, snow melt systems, emergency backup systems, motor controls, and building HVAC equipment power and controls.
  • Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of all components using standard instruments such as Multi-meters, Meggers, VOM’s and various other Metering Devices.
  • Troubleshoot problems when breakdowns occur.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
  • Install lighting fixtures, power equipment, switches, relays, and power panels.
  • Install, maintain, and repair switch and circuit breaker panels and motor starters.
  • Be familiar and able to work on electronic control systems as needed.
  • Maintain safe working conditions on the job and in the electrical shop, and other electrically designated areas campus-wide.
  • Assist other shops with electrical problems and snow removal upon request.
Technology Requirements

Minimum technology baselines needed to perform job responsibilities included, but not limited to, proper use of company issued iPhones, laptops and other equipment. Responsible for using Outlook calendar and checking and responding to PEA emails. Required to use and understand company issued software, including PEA’s work order system, Maintenance Connection.

Position Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical/vocational school electrical education preferred.
  • Currently we have 2 openings- one requirement is a NH Journeyman’s Electrical License the other is a Master’s Electrical License. Master's preferred for both


Experience

  • 5 years’ Journeyman electrician experience required.
  • Knowledge of National Electric Codes.
  • Knowledge of methods, tools and hazards of the trade (NFPA-70E, NFPA-101, and L.O.T.O).
  • Ability to inspect equipment and systems, determine malfunction and make necessary repairs
