Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Leave, Workers’ Compensation and Accommodations Programs, the Employment Accommodations Analyst (EAA) is responsible for coordination and day to day functioning of the Employment Accommodations Resource Center (EARC) program including facilitating the interactive process among appropriate stakeholders, research, training, and confidential administrative support. The EAA manages development and use of databases, work processes, daily program operations while supporting policy and processes. The EAA conducts extensive research; assesses compliance with ADA, FEHA, Section 504, and Section 508, and other appropriate legislation and policies as they relate to employment accommodations. The EAA supports trainings and projects to promote/ensure disability inclusion and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the “Interactive Process.”
  • Hold confidential meetings with professional staff and employees with disabilities.
  • Lead case meetings with professional staff to determine and prescribe appropriate and reasonable accommodations for employees.
  • Interface with managers, chairs and directors regarding employee accommodations.
  • Coordinate and oversee the day to day delivery of accommodations to employees and maintain confidential employee files.
  • Conduct extensive research, assess compliance with ADA, Section 504, Section 508, FEHA, and other appropriate legislation and policies to assist with the determination of reasonable and appropriate employment accommodations.
  • Ensure data collection, maintain appropriate databases and conduct analysis of pertinent data.
  • Oversees the accurate and confidential collection of all documentation pertinent to employee accommodation requests.
  • Assist with audits, reports and evaluations of Title I ADA compliance and other applicable state/federal/CSU regulations, legislation, and policy to monitor compliance and recommend solutions to the Director.
  • Oversee employee grievance complaint process, internal and external.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of and ability to apply expertise in the advanced theories, principles, methods and practices associated with disability employment matters, including applicable internal policies and procedures and pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal questions and develop and apply solutions.
  • Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively.
  • Working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act and other federally mandated regulations as they pertain to disability issues.
  • Ability to effectively use applicable information systems and applications in analysis, research, and reporting activities and projects.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and influence high-level and diverse contacts inside and outside of the CSU system.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive communications.
  • Ability to handle multiple work priorities, organize and plan work and projects and perform accurately in a detailed-oriented environment.
  • Ability to train faculty, staff, and administrators on employment related legal mandates and requirements.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or professional training program specific to the position and directly related work experience, or a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Three years of administrative work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with employment accommodations and Leaves in a Higher Education setting


Compensation

Classification: Confidential Administrative Support - III
Salary Range: $5,102/month - $11,325/month
