The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine (UFCOM) invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level (non-tenure track) to serve as Director of the UFCOM Autopsy service at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.

The successful applicant will be a full member of the University of Florida Department of Pathology, participating in the medical autopsy service at UF Health Shands Hospital and contribute to medical student, resident, and fellowship training in accredited programs in Pathology. Scholarly study and investigation is also expected.

The successful applicant may also serve as a pathologist for the District 8 Medical Examiner’s Office, Alachua County, Florida, depending on training and certification. The District 8 Medical Examiner’s Office has a new, state-of-the-art, facility and is located approximately 3 miles from UF Health Shands Hospital. Approximately 600 death investigations are performed per year. UF Health Shands Hospital conducts approximately 200 autopsies per year.

Applicants must have an M.D. or D.O. degree, be board certified in Anatomic Pathology and possess or be eligible for a state of Florida Medical license. Board-certification/board-eligibility in Forensic Pathology is desirable.

Salary and rank are negotiable, commensurate with experience.
