Position Overview The Assistant Athletic Director, Marketing & Fan Engagement will develop and implement marketing, game operations and promotional plans to enhance the brand and revenue of Marquette Athletics. He/she is responsible for many external operations of the department; delivers, directs and implements the strategy plan for marketing, promotions, game management, community outreach, and student spirit groups. Duties and Responsibilities 1.      Primarily responsible for developing, coordinating and executing the strategy for Marquette Athletics marketing, branding, promotions, external exposure and constituent engagement with a focus on Men’s Basketball. 2.      Supervises the department’s marketing team, promotions, and event management staff. 3.      Advances the goal of making the Marquette University game experience enjoyable for all in attendance. 4.      Member of the Vice President & Director of Athletics’ Senior Staff Team. 5.      Creates, produces and executes Marquette Men’s Basketball marketing plan. 6.      Develops external vision of department working closely with senior management of athletic communications, athletic development, licensing, merchandising, ticket office and Marquette Sports Properties. 7.      Serves as department liaison with external constituents and sponsorships as they relate to the department radio and television affiliations; oversees corporate marketing strategies in conjunction with Marquette Sports Properties. 8.      Performing other job-related duties as assigned.   The Assistant/Associate Athletic Director, Marketing & Fan Engagement reports directly to the Executive Associate Athletics Director and works alongside the external units.  He/She has supervisory responsibility for marketing and spirit squad staffs/members.  He/She will collaborate regularly with area heads in Athletic Communications, Athletic Ticketing and Athletic Development, as well as the University’s multimedia rights holder (Learfield).   Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor’s degree required. 3-5 years of sports marketing experience required. Five or more years of marketing experience, with a strong emphasis on marketing men’s basketball, preferred. Applicants should have a proven track record of creative solutions for marketing and branding athletics, and have demonstrated excellent managerial and organizational abilities. Ability to supervise marketing and spirit squad staffs/members. Collaborate regularly with area heads in Athletic Communications and Athletic Development, as well as the University’s Office of Marketing and Communications, and Advancement.
