Job Summary
The Office of Advancement and the Harrison School of Pharmacy are conducting a search for a Development Coordinator who can effectively coordinate all aspects of the Pharmacy Development related to programs, services, and fundraisers. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, organized, and motivated professional with strong multi-tasking skills and sound judgement, who can assist with the philanthropic efforts for the Harrison School of Pharmacy Development Office.
Essential Functions
Under the guidance of the Director, the person in this position will be tasked to provide support for the Harrison School of Pharmacy’s philanthropic efforts. Essential functions include, but are not limited to: plans, develops, assist in the execution of programs/services/fundraisers; monitors and may develop programs/services budget and ensures programs/services are operating within specifications; prepares and processes financial documents such as vender vouchers and reimbursements; identifies, recommends, and secures appointments with prospects and donors; manages a comprehensive alumni and development program which includes coordination of publications, reports, proposals, direct mail, email, and/or telephone contacts and planning and executing special events and meetings; utilizes computer programs effectively in order to complete daily tasks such as general correspondence, calendars, e-mail, detailed spreadsheets, mail merges, and donor reports. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for gift processing and tracking, donor stewardship and recognition, record keeping, budget monitoring and travel arrangements. Assist the Office of Communication and Marketing in writing and proofing press releases and other publicity items and arranging media coverage for gift and donor related news items. Attend all Pharmacy events as appropriate.

Minimum Skills and Abilities
Candidates should possess well-developed written communication and publications skills, interpersonal communication skills enabling them to deal creatively, confidently, and professionally with a wide variety of individual donors; and have the ability to take initiative, work independently and manage multiple projects. The desire and willingness to work collaboratively in a team-based environment are imperative. Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in public relations and general office operations is also required. Must be proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Desktop publishing, and email software.

Valid Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one prior to selection.
Desired Qualifications
Desired qualifications include: excellent organizational skill; intermediate/advanced computer skills; extensive experience in fundraising and/or public relations. Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in general office operations, including Banner software and use of Qualtrics, is also desired. Ability to engage and be innovative with social media use.
