Position Summary

As a key member of the Primary Care Research Institute, the Senior Research Scientist develops and leads, as a Principal and/or Co-Investigator, multiple evidenced based service innovations or projects that translate research into real world settings. Work involves their area of methodological (qualitative /quantitative / mixed-methods / implementation science) and subject matter expertise in collaboration with other PCRI Principal Investigators/Project Directors and research support staff.

· Develops and leads program coordination / evaluation activities in collaboration with PCRI community partners; and identifies and helps develop new funding opportunities relevant to their own research areas.

· Actively develops new applied research projects in real world settings, independently and in collaboration with PCRI Principal Investigators/Project Directors and the PCRI administrative officer.

· Works as a core member of multiple project teams. Leads project / research activities, including: project / study design, data collection and analysis, recruitment, survey methods, project implementation / coordination, report writing and manuscript preparation. Works with PCRI team to identify and apply for new research funding opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

· PhD in related field (such as anthropology, epidemiology, sociology, public health, social science, nursing, etc.). Education and experience requirements may be satisified by an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Relevant work experience in evidence-based translation (program design / development / implementation / evaluation), health services research, or a related field.
· Training and demonstrated skill in quantitative, qualitative, and/or and mixed-methods approaches
· Other skills: critical thinking and problem solving; strong interpersonal communication skills; excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; ability to interact with diverse study/project participants, faculty, staff, and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

· 5 years of relevant work experience as a Principal Investigator/ Project Director/ Program Developer / Lead Evaluator
· Professional Commitment: Commitment to a health services research career
· Track record of successful publication and grant writing
