Director Of Admissions & Recruitment - College of Pharmacy - Student Affairs

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  The Director of Admissions and Recruitment will lead the overall recruitment and admissions enterprise for the Doctor of Pharmacy program. The Director of Admissions and Recruitment will closely monitor and evaluate admissions trends across the academy of pharmacy and will recommend recruitment initiatives and priorities as a result; will evaluate regional and national metrics related to pharmacy school admissions and will design programmatic recruitment strategies to reach college metrics related to admissions. The Director of Admissions and Recruitment must embrace data driven strategies and must be committed to continuous assessment of the recruitment and admissions activities. This position will conduct initial reviews of all verified applicants, and will make decisions on extending interview invitations.  This position serves as the primary contact for all potential applicants and all applicants up to the point that they are invited to interview for admission.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for development, implementation, oversight and supervision of the College of Pharmacy's student recruitment plan and the admissions process for the professional degree program as well as supervision of the Coordinator for Admissions and Recruitment.
  2. Responsible for the development, maintenance and utilization of the College of Pharmacy's Enrollment Management Platform, relevant webpages, and other software applications or databases as part of the student recruitment plan and admissions process.
  3. Identify, develop and maintain 3+1 and other pipeline program affiliation agreements and the direct admissions program.
  4. Serve as primary recruiter for potential candidates for admission to the College's professional program.
  5. Responsible for all communication to prospective students, including all blasts and campaigns in the enrollment management system and individual pharmadmiss emails.
  6. Mobilize and engage alumni, faculty, and current students in recruitment efforts. Schedule office visits, college tours, workshops, and recruitment events on all three campuses.
  7. Represent and promote the College of Pharmacy through participation in college and high school career fairs, conferences, and other community programs, interact with other UTHSC colleges and participate in combined recruitment activities with significant travel in Tennessee and surrounding states to conduct recruitment activities.
  8. Support standardization of the interview process by training faculty and student members of the Admissions Committee on the interview process.
  9. Interact with student support offices (admissions, registrar, financial aid, bursar, international office, etc.) on matters pertaining to admitted students.
  10. Assure that all admitted students complete all College pre-matriculation requirements (background checks, immunization requirements, CPR certification, etc) and that all admitted students have complete student files before matriculation.
  11. Document and assess outcomes of activities and goals, conduct and assess quality improvement activities related to recruitment and admissions and prepare related reports for recruitment and admissions activities.
  12. Perform other admissions duties/assignments as requested by the Associate Dean for Student Affairs. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred); at least five years of related professional experience in higher education is required. At least three years’ work experience in admissions and/or recruitment within higher education, experience supervising staff, and experience advising and counseling students is required. Experience with admissions/recruitment in Graduate level Health Sciences and experience with assessment and continuous quality improvement processes preferred.  (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
