Help Desk Technical Support Specialist

Department: Information Support

Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Help Desk Technical Support Specialist in the Information Support department.

The candidate would be expected to: interpret user issues, troubleshoot the problem appropriately in the areas of software, hardware, printers, WiFi access, entire computer systems and software suites such as MS Office 2016. Other University software and systems requiring troubleshooting include: Hyland Onbase, SoftDocs Doc-e-Scan, TutorTrac, Ultimate Ultipro, Ellucian Colleague, Desire2Learn, Turning Point, Kronos, and various mobile devices.

Must be able to utilize a variety of computer software programs in order to successfully complete assigned tasks, Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately, Intermediate knowledge of MS Word 2013, Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel 2013

Required Years of Experience: 4

Other Requirements:
Four+ years of customer service experience in a demand-based environment and either one year of technical school or technical experience in areas directly related to microcomputer systems and software and mobile devices.

A personable demeanor in person, on the phone and via email should be evident. Must be willing and able to adjust schedules and responsibilities. Must maintain a high degree of professionalism, quality of service and be flexible and able to work on multiple projects where the focus may change as a result of various factors.

Preferred Qualifications:
A+ Certification and work experience in an academic setting. Advanced knowledge of Office 2013 and 2016.
