Miami University Libraries: Electronic Resources Librarian who is a tech-savvy, and detail-oriented colleague in the Access & Borrow Department (A&B). The successful candidate will take charge of developing and maintaining access to the Library’s electronic resources and subscriptions. Working in a team environment, the ERL will serve as an active member with other parties (library, university) to manage and trouble-shoot electronic resources, and participate in ongoing assessment of policies and procedures. The position carries responsibilities for scholarly activities and professional service for promotion and continuing contract.

The Electronic Resources Librarian manages ongoing technical access to electronic resources and collaborates with other librarians and staff to maximize discovery of resources for patrons; works with Discovery Services Librarian and Systems Department to ensure resource and metadata integration into discovery services and coordinate troubleshooting; Takes lead in gathering and analyzing serials, e-book, database, other usage data, and related assessment; Supports, recommends, and implements new workflows and initiatives for managing and processing electronic resources; works closely with library consortia to manage shared electronic collections and serials; Supports equitable acquisition and accessibility of diverse, inclusive, and accessible electronic materials, and budgetary management, reporting and analysis activity; Contribute to training on and staff familiarity with electronic resources management, data analysis and/or automation as applicable; Maintains and enhance professional skills through regular and meaningful professional development activities; pursue an active career path contributing to the field of academic librarianship; and other duties as assigned.

Required: Master's degree from an ALA-accredited Library and Information Science Program; Demonstrated understanding, through experience and/or coursework, of electronic and continuing resources life cycle activities; troubleshooting; and/or cataloging processes and techniques; Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and complete tasks according to an established timeframe; Demonstrated ability to perform accurate and detail-oriented work, including strong analytical and problem solving skills and use of data to make analysis-driven decisions; Proven communication and interpersonal skills; Commitment to participate in appropriate professional service and conduct research and scholarship, demonstrating ability to meet the Libraries’ promotion and continuing contract requirements (see http://www.lib.miamioh.edu/about/larps.pdf). Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship. 

Consideration may be given to candidates with experience with electronic resources and/or technical services in academic institutions; Experience with III Sierra, Ebsco Discovery Service, EZ Proxy, Ebsco Holdings Management, and Springshare; Experience working in a library that is a member of a library consortium.
