Position Summary:

The administrator primarily assists the director of the Center for Research on Gender and Women (CRGW). The administrator also assists the Department of Gender and Women's Studies (GWS) and the Women's and Gender Studies Consortium (WGSC) in specific publicity and programmatic related tasks. The administrator coordinates the Center's various research and award competitions, plans and coordinates events, and provides communications related support to all three units.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

High school degree preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

1. Proficiency in typing and keyboard skills, understanding of filing systems requiring institutional protocols, good organizational habits and excellent communication skills. A basic understanding of accounting principles and use of spreadsheets for financial records management is necessary to do this job.
2. Necessary skills: PC or MAC computer literacy. Microsoft Office (WORD and EXCEL), Adobe or PDFs and web maintenance software or the ability to learn Word Press required. Experience in any other software, web maintenance or other computer systems a plus.
3. Ability to work independently with an ability to maintain deadlines and office integrity. An ability to pay attention to detail.
4. Knowledge in UW System and UW Madison policies and procedures preferred but not required.
