The Director, Gift Planning leads a comprehensive gift planning program which produces $8 million - $10 million per year in cash, tangible assets, as well as long-term documented commitments to Skidmore. The Director trains and advises frontline fundraising staff on all aspects of planned giving, including effective strategies and vehicles to be utilized to secure planned gifts for the College. In addition, the Director provides counsel on all aspects of planned giving to donors and their advisors. Leading by example, the incumbent will also manage a pool of donor prospects with an objective of documenting annual, major, and planned gifts to Skidmore from those prospects. The Director supervises a Gift Planning Coordinator and executes a comprehensive annual marketing program for Gift Planning at Skidmore. The Director will also provide appropriate stewardship to gift planning donors through the College’s Legacy Society. The incumbent will maintain familiarity with tax regulations governing charitable giving, as well as industry best practices.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required and 7+ years of directly related or applicable experience.

Pay Range: Commensurate with experience
