Job Description Summary

Responsible for specialized development, delivery, and management of one or more aspects of the Adult Education Program, which may include student assessment, tutoring, data systems, and student support.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Associates degree or equivalent formal training.
  2. Combination of education and related experience for a total of five to six years.


Criteria

CRITERIA : The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed.   1. Serves as an integral part of the Adult Education program’s ABE / GED registration/ intake team (responsible for student registration, class placement, pre and post-testing)
  2. Works to achieve the Adult Education department’s strategic goals and contribute to the department’s annual report.
  3. Works as a team member with GED instructors, Program Coordinator, and Program Director.
  4. Manages data entry to enrollment reports (registration, pre-testing, post-testing)
  5. Collects, records, and verifies student data using required systems; maintains the accuracy and integrity of student data.
  6. Manages GED workshop process (from registration to completion).
  7. Manages social media platforms for the Adult Basic Education/ GED program.
  8. Responds to phone, email and walk-in inquiries; maintains contact with the general public; provides information and guidance regarding Adult Education programs.
  9. Attends internal and external meetings and communicates pertinent information, as needed.
  10. Conducts visits to program’s on/off-campus instructional sites within Prince George’s County, as needed
  11. Maintains effective communication with the PGCC community, utilizing PGCC communication technology and PGCC email regularly & exclusively.
  12. Performs all other duties as directed by the Program Director, Adult Education Director, or designee.

  7. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially in Excel including data spreadsheet modifications, and understanding of formulas.


Job Requirements

  1. Must be available to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  3. As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
