Duties: Teach Voice I, II, III and Stage Dialects to BFA Performance majors. Voice Coach for Theatre & Drama Main Stage productions, and teach a beginning-level acting class for non-majors. The appointee will be expected to: demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence; create an innovative curriculum for a broad range of students of varied identities and backgrounds who seek to explore a range of educational opportunities and career pathways; recruit students of exceptional promise; and develop and maintain a national and international profile The appointee will also be expected to participate in faculty governance, attend faculty meetings, and serve on faculty and university committees as appropriate.
Qualifications: Specialized training and/or certification in Voice, Speech, Dialects, Text Analysis (prose and verse), and Acting; documented history of collaboration with co-workers and/or faculty members; knowledge of the classical and current theatrical canon; ability to teach theatrical skills that prepare students for the professional stage and that closely aligns to the overall mission of the U-M School of Music, Theatre & Dance and the department of Theatre & Drama, as stated above; demonstrated ability to empower, advocate for, and value a broad range of students of diverse identities and experiences, as shown through pedagogy, mentoring, and related activities; MFA in Theatre or equivalent training/specialization in Voice, Acting, Text, Speech, Dialects.
Salary range: $68,000- $85,000; salary commensurate with experience, higher salary may be considered for exceptional candidate.
