Job Description:
UF Information Technology (UFIT) is committed to creating an equitable and inclusive workplace. We are seeking an Education Specialist to join the Center for Instructional Technology and Training, a unit within UFIT.

Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse community and staff who are dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida.

Become a part of the UFIT Training team in the Center for Instructional Technology & Training.

A successful Education/Training Specialist must be able to:

  • Implement appropriate pedagogy, develop and deliver interactive face to face and Online training for faculty and staff.
  • Proficiency with technology and ability to train users on multiple platforms.
  • Manage training projects successfully, communicate effectively with stakeholders and prioritize tasks
  • Adapt to rapidly changing technological learning environment.
  • Have a working knowledge of Storyline or Articulate Rise a plus.


Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Ability to interpret and implement the technical training required to address the needs of staff and the diverse community UF serves
  • Knowledgeable of content management systems such as Canvas
  • Able to articulate stakeholders needs and able to prioritize tasks
  • Apply quality assurance methods for training modules to ensure that digital content is accessible to all individuals
  • Update UFIT Training Web pages and evaluating and documenting internal procedure

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience but does not negate the minimum degree requirement(s).

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and skills:

  • Working knowledge of Storyline or Articulate Rise a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse populations


Preferred skills, expertise, and experience:

  • Knowledge of Canvas LMS
  • Provide technical user support or training in a higher education or business
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the experience of higher education or Training or Adult Learning
  • Developing, delivering, and evaluating training and /or working with adult learners
  • Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning models, training models, training technology and pedagogy
