Williams College is now searching for a new Assistant Director of Integrative Wellbeing Services /Director of Clinical Operations (DCO). Integrative Wellbeing Services (IWS) at Williams College offers a full array of clinical assessment, treatment, crisis intervention, wellbeing promotion, outreach and professional training services to support the mental health and thriving of students across the College. Partnering with many student facing departments across campus, including Health Services, the Dean’s Office, Davis Multicultural Center, Accessibility Services, Chaplain’s Office and Campus Safety Services, IWS collaboratively responds to ongoing psychological and psychiatric needs, along with emergent issues impacting students and the College community.

With growing demand for mental health services experienced nationally and at Williams, we have created a new role for a full time Assistant Director IWS/Director of Clinical Operations (DCO) to join the IWS leadership team. As the Director of Clinical Operations, you will work collaboratively with the Director of IWS, Director of Community Wellbeing and Director of Education, Training and Assessment to oversee the broad scope of IWS services, outreach and training activities. You will be directly responsible for administering and supervising clinical services, providing direct clinical care, and serving as a consultative and collaborative resource for campus partners on emergent and ongoing clinical issues impacting student mental health. Combining administrative, clinical supervisory, and strategic leadership, this position requires extensive experience providing psychotherapeutic services to the 18-24 year old population; supervising interdisciplinary clinicians; and organizing and maintaining clinical systems to meet the demand of a diverse and busy clinical service. A dynamic and multifaceted role, the DCO will assure excellence in all clinical aspects of the work, clinician support, and accountability for the timely and expansive clinical services needed to meet the needs of a diverse student population and invested community of campus partners.


Responsibilities

Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Scheduling, Expectations & Document Review
  • Clinical Case Staffing & Protocols
  • Staff Development & Administrative Supervision
Clinical Supervision Responsibilities:
  • General supervisory oversight for IWS clinicians
  • Consultation and back up of clinical decision-making
  • Clinical supervision of assigned fellows and staff pursuing licensure
  • Clinical Treatment or Psychological Testing:
  • Provide 5 - 7 hours per week of clinical treatment, psychiatric care or psychological testing, consistent with discipline
Clinical Consultation and Assessment:
  • Provide assessment and consultation as IWS representative in student At-Risk processes;
  • consultation to Health Services, Dean’s Office, Davis Center, Chaplain’s Office, CSS, Faculty and other Campus Partners on clinical issues of concern regarding students or clinical resources access;
Clinical Strategy:
  • clinical model planning and revision to meet student demand, implement best practices
  • planning for future clinical needs and diversification of services and approaches to meet the changing populations and needs


Qualifications
  • Current MA advanced clinical practice licensure or licensure within another state and license eligible within MA in one year (in psychology, social work, psychiatry or other mental health field)
  • At least 7 years clinical practice experience with demonstrated supervisory experience (during or following that period) post - terminal education and practice licensure
  • Administrative experience managing clinically related issues
  • Experience with the 18-24 year old population
  • Experience working with individuals from historically underrepresented groups and counseling experience on issues of diversity, intersectionality and identity development
