Job Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director of Institutional and Strategic Planning ( EDISP ), this position is responsible for providing College-wide facilities planning to promote a physical environment that supports and enhances learning and teaching services. This position provides expertise in facilities planning and development. Work contacts include administrators, faculty, staff, students, state agencies, and the public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performance Requirements
• Provides continuous assessment of district needs for new expanded, or upgraded facilities
• Assists the EDISP in the development of educational requirements and specifications for the college facilities
• Applies business case analysis to validate facilities requirements
• Responsible for master planning and space planning and utilization
• Helps to define initiatives and prepare scope of work documents for cost estimating
• Provides work input, control, and support to the Work Induction Board
• Reviews incoming work requests and determines optimal execution method within Real Estate and Facilities
• Provides research to enable effective strategic facilities planning decisions
• Reviews, evaluates, and recommends processes and technologies to improve planning efforts
• Researches new trends and assist in incorporating them at TCC
• Responsible for completing contracts, documents, and technical reports relating to all projects including but not limited to standard operating procedures and college correspondence

Service Excellence
• Validates requirements and helps customers set priorities
• Assists customers with work requests, to clarify and develop facilities related requirements
• Assists in keeping the customer informed of their status of work
• Coordinate with others to manage ongoing Facilities Condition Assessment program
• Interface effectively with external companies, peers, and administrative staff to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in
• Creates and conducts presentations to external and internal audiences
• Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
• Attends the workplace regularly and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

*Performs other related tasks as required.

SUPERVISION – Works under the general supervision of the Executive Director of Institutional Strategic Development

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Project Management, Business, or Construction
• Five (5) years of related professional experience in architectural planning and design, operational and strategic facilities planning; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and related experience

Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Ability to relate space or planning drawings and documents to actual operations
• Knowledge of construction documents, drawings, and usage related to building construction or modification
• Experience with AutoCAD, REVIT, or MicroStation

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with college faculty, staff, and administrators, vendors, and students
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects and meeting scheduled deadlines
• Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information in written and oral format
• Knowledge of CAD and plotting equipment
