Responsibilities:
Assist in the care, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of injured student-athletes. Assist the direct supervisor in fulfilling the overall mission of the sports medicine department along with encompassing the vision of the department of athletics and the university. Work with team physicians/office staff to coordinate referrals, office visits and surgeries.
Provide direct athletic training coverage for assigned intercollegiate athletic teams as determined by supervisor. Coverage will involve practice and games, will include nights weekends and travel. Supervise graduate assistants. Administrative duties will include coordinating the secondary insurance program for student-athlete medical expenses. Will be required to abide by all Delta State University, Gulf South Conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree Required. Master’s Degree Preferred. NATABOC Certification Required. Eligible for State of Mississippi Athletic Training Licensure/current holder of license. CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
Minimum of 2 years experience post NATABOC certification.Bachelor’s Degree Required. NATABOC Certification Required. Eligible for State of Mississippi Athletic Training Licensure/current holder of stated license. CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
