Temporary Faculty Counselor in Department of Counseling & Psychological Services

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,300 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Counseling & Psychological Services at Kutztown University invites applications for a full-time, temporary faculty counselor position at the Instructor/Assistant Professor level for the 2021-2022 academic year.  Required: a Master’s degree in Counseling or a related field and appropriate licensure. Preferred: doctoral degree.  Previous experience providing clinical services to college students in a university counseling center setting is strongly preferred.  The position requires a counseling generalist with excellent interpersonal skills who will provide time-limited individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, outreach, consultation, referral, and supervision of practicum students in a team-oriented setting. Expertise or special skills in working with one of the following populations is highly desired: individuals with multiple marginalized identities, individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, military-affiliated/veteran students, and LGBTQ-identified students.  As faculty with primary duties outside of the classroom, counseling faculty are also expected to perform in the areas of scholarly growth and service.  A successful interview and demonstration of ability are requisite qualifications.
