Job Description

To maintain and promote the health of the student body at Virginia Tech by utilizing diagnostic, therapeutic and educational skills. The provider will be expected to perform their roles in a nonjudgmental and nondiscriminatory manner in accordance with SHC policies. They will contribute to a supportive, healthy and safe work environment that promotes mutual respect. They will maintain electronic health records and maintain patient confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy. Current DEA and Virginia State Medical license or eligibility. Minimum of three (3) years experience in OB/GYN or primary care medicine with OB/GYN experience with documentation of expertise from peers or coworkers.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge/experience of disease, prevention and health promotion needs of late adolescents and adults in a college health setting. Preference given for experience with electronic medical records (EMR). Experience in working with the healthcare needs of the LGBTQ+ population. Experience interacting with diverse populations or students of color. Demonstrated sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of students of differing academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds and sexual orientation.
