Position Summary:

This position teaches courses in the Dance Department that are required for Pilates certificate students. Courses will include Pilates Mat I, Pilates Mat II, Pilates Equipment I, and other Pilates-related courses as needed. Course load will vary each semester.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required. Certification in Pilates teaching.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Minimum 2 years experience teaching at the university level.
Experience teaching Pilates. Demonstrated ability to teach learners at beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels.

License or Certificate:

Certified Pilates Teacher, completion of comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training on Mat, Reformer, Chair, Cadillac and Accessory Equipment. Preferred knowledge of classical repertory and contemporary therapeutic applications

Additional Information:

This appointment serves dance majors, Pilates certificate students, and elective students. This appointment has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or department funding.
