Jackson Student Union Manager

Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the Jackson Student Union Manager. This position at CCU will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Lib Jackson Student Union which serves as the “living room” for all CCU students. Inside the Union, you will find a movie theater, game room, dining facility, meeting rooms, organization resource center, departmental offices, and many spaces for students to spend time.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to: manage day-to-day operations of the facility; serve as space use manager to review, evaluate and approve online requests for the Union meeting and event facilities; meet with event sponsors when needed (students, faculty, staff and guests) to assist with room reservations, set-up, audio visual and ID card access; supervise, hire and train student facility supervisors;  responsible for student set-up crew, day to day activities, and all special events in the Union; facilitate professional development programming and training for student staff; manage, develop and coordinate a variety of programming events for students in the Union, including late night and weekend programming and Jackson Union Film Series; monitor all events in Student Union to ensure safety and compliance with University regulations; develop and manage Jackson Union budgets and assessment; recruit, trains, schedules and supervises student staff on in-house presentation, video/audio/lighting systems including portable sound and lighting support, as well as to provide quality customer service in the Union for the game room, Movie Theater and for facility set-up and support; maintain audio-visual equipment and develops a plan for equipment updates and replacement meeting future programmatic needs; oversee the game room and equipment maintenance; and other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of related experience in programming and/or facility management are required. A master's degree in College Student Personnel or related area and two (2) years of related experience are preferred.  Direct experience with programming and facility management and a general understanding of student development are preferred.
