The University of California, Davis, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a board certified/eligible academic cardiologist to join an expanding division as an Assistant/Associate/ or Full Health Sciences Clinical Professor. Appointees to this series are required to participate in teaching and patient care. We are a large tertiary referral center for central California, providing a full spectrum of cardiovascular services, with excellent academic and clinical research opportunities. Applicant should have a commitment to the highest quality patient care, communication, and clinical outcomes.

This position may, at times, require the incumbent to work with or be in areas where hazardous materials and/or infectious diseases are present. Specific hazards of the position may include but are not limited to the use of radioactive or radiolabeled agents in the laboratory.

QUALIFICATIONS Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must possess an MD, or MD/PhD, or equivalent, and be board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. Must be eligible for licensure in California. The final candidate will be expected to perform clinical duties in all aspects of the heart failure, heart transplantation and ventricular assist device inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at main campus and satellite clinics. Experience in or the ability to teach fellows, residents, and medical students is required. Ideal candidates will also have interest in academic research. The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment is required.

Preferred qualifications

Preferred candidates will have solid experience and interest in critical advanced cardiac care and ECLS and will have an active role in the development of the critical heart failure care program.
