Job Description:

As the first point of contact for visitors to the College of Law Admission Office, the Admissions Assistant II is responsible for the operation of the front desk and reception area, including greeting guests, answering a multi-line telephone, responding to in-person and/or email inquiries, and coordinating and implementing the Admissions Activities of the Levin Ambassador volunteer program that provides daily tours and class visits to potential law school applicants. In addition, the Admissions Assistant II coordinates the check-in of more than 4,000 JD and non-JD applications and alerts applicants regarding required materials that are missing. The Admissions Assistant II fields questions, by phone and email, from law school applicants on the application process and the law school; assists with the input and monitoring of data for accuracy; maintains confidentially standards; under the direction of the Assistant Dean for Admissions, Associate Director of Admissions, Associate Director for Operations, and Assistant Director of Admissions, interprets Admissions Office and University policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of the admissions process; creates and runs ad hoc reports from the CRM database, as needed; serves as a liaison to the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) to troubleshoot database issues as necessary; assesses, recommends, and implements improved office systems and procedures; and assists the Associate Director of Operations with the transfer/visitor application process. The Admissions Assistant II also offers administrative support to Assistant Dean of Admissions and other professional staff as needed; assists with on/off-campus recruitment events and special projects; assists in the processing of seat deposits and application fees, including collecting checks/money orders as well as monitoring and updating the law school’s online payment database and student records with payment information; coordinates application fee waiver process by maintaining database of approved fee waived candidates and providing this data to the College of Law finance team for reconciliation with University records; follows law school policies to order and purchase office supplies and equipment; and distributes mail.

Expected Salary:

$15.00 - $21.89 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree; knowledge of the law school application process; superior organizational skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and NERDC/COMPASS systems; ability to exercise good judgment, work with the public, and communicate effectively (verbal and written).
