Campus Location: Located at the Sylvania campus but will often make visits to other campuses and centers as needed.

Portland Community College is excited to announce the search for a newly created Bursary Technology Support Analyst which is part of our Bursary & Student Accounts Systems team, which reports to the Bursary and Student Accounts Systems Manager. This position provides analysis and problem-solving, technical assistance and support coordination to staff for computer hardware, software, networking, and applications systems including Banner, Touchnet, and BankMobile. This position will work closely with our vendors to keep our systems on-line and working accurately as well as serving as the trainer to staff on the system software and hardware.

Candidate Profile

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.
Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications.

-Analyzes and resolves computer hardware, software and network issues, repairs user workstations, modifies configurations, and replaces faulty hardware specifically for our department-based systems.
-Functions as the key contact for all requests from a broad range of users for technical support at a designated location. Provides consultation and support; communicates effectively to convey complex technical information.
-Advises and assists with recommendations to departmental management and ITS on equipment purchases and training needs.
-Coordinates contact with vendors as needed to assist with support activities.
-Ability to support a variety of users with divergent needs and skill levels.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Associate degree in computer related discipline (relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis).

Four or more years of work experience with automated systems in a complex network environment.

Successful experience working in an end-user, customer facing role in a trouble-shooting capacity is required.

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience working with higher education systems such as Banner, TouchNet, BankMobile, or other higher education specific systems (Nelnet, CashNet,) .
-Experience working with Point-of Sale systems and hardware (credit card merchant accounts).
-Experience preparing for and providing demonstrations and documentation to users for enterprise applications.
-Experience in running and/or writing reports in reporting software such as ARGOS, COGNOS, Discoverer, etc..
-Understanding of basic finance/accounting principles.

Position Grade 24 Starting Salary Expectations The first two steps of the range are: $61,364 to $63,202 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $58162 to $93329 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees)

  • Starts at 8 hours of vacation leave per month (additional vacation hours with years of service)
  • 8 hours of sick leave per month
  • 24 hours of additional personal leave days per year
  • 11 Paid holidays
