Position Details
Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Involvement, the Student Clubs & Organization Coordinator works collaboratively as a member of the Student Affairs division and is responsible for the day-to-day management of Wesleyan Student Assembly ( WSA ) recognized student organizations. Specific responsibilities include:

Student Advising:
  • Oversee and maintain web based student organization administration system (WesNest). Conduct training for student organization leaders.
  • Advise the Community Committee (CoCo) of the WSA to approve student organizations and make sure they are in alignment with university policies and procedures.
  • Manage Wesleyan Student Assembly ( WSA ) elections process with the WSA Chief of Staff.
  • Oversee and assist WSA Community Committee (CoCo) Chair with student group registration / renewal process.
  • Review Student Budget Committee funding requests in conjunction with the Assistant Director.
  • Provide advice, guidance and training to students on the event contract process; maintain online contract requests/inquires utilizing the web based student organization administration system (WesNest) and email.
  • Provide support and assistance for student leadership projects overseen by Student Assembly Leadership Board.
  • Plan Annual Club Fairs by working collaboratively with Student Organization Leaders.
  • Assist in coordination of major university events such as Orientation, Spring Fling, and Senior Week.
Supervision:
  • Recruit, select and supervise student office assistant staff and submit their timesheets
  • Oversee student employee management, training and evaluation.
  • Supervise Leadership Intern to provide leadership programs and other training workshops for student organization leaders, manage annual leadership awards selection.
  • Assist Associate Director with the supervision of the concert committee staff and budget.
Administrative:
  • Purchase capital items for student organizations and maintain Inventory Tracking System.
  • Manage the Leadership Programs budget.
  • Manage and maintain the office website.
  • Participate in department planning and assessment activities.
  • Assist with the development of department goals, objectives and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two years related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Familiarity with advising student organizations Familiarity with leadership development/student development workshops. Familiarity with coordinating student programs and events.
Demonstrated commitment to working within a diverse environment and collaborating with individuals of different backgrounds.
Prior experience working both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated effective communication skills
Demonstrated experience using a variety of computer software applications.
Prior experience coordinating large projects and handling multiple demands efficiently.
Ability to work some nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree.
Higher education work experience.
Previous budget management experience.
Demonstrated experience advising organizations/student groups.
Demonstrated experience working with and/or implementing student engagement platforms. Supervisory experience
