Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching courses within the ACEND-accredited undergraduate and
graduate Nutrition and Dietetics programs. The successful candidate
should possess strengths in the following areas including but not
limited to: quantity food production and purchasing, foodservice
management (personnel and facilities), and principles of food
science and preparation.
The successful candidate will also provide academic and career
advising to students and mentor students through successful
completion of course work. The successful applicant must also
demonstrate proficiency and commitment to high-quality classroom
and clinical instruction, new course development, contribute to
program development and evaluation, understand and assist with
responsibilities of ACEND accredited DPD and DI programs,
participate in school activities, and provide community service. If
at the terminal degree level, the candidate will be expected to
develop an independent and collaborative plan for engaging in
research and creative scholarly activity.

team; the ability to make sound judgments and assist in resolving

Minimum Education Requirements:
A minimum of a Master's degree in nutrition or a related field is
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:
Applicant must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian
Nutritionist/Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic
Registration at the time that application is submitted or have
reciprocity. Successful applicants must have attained state
licensure (LD) via the Kentucky Board of Licensure by appointment
Preferred Education and/or Experience
3 years of experience in foodservice management is preferred.
College teaching and/or preceptor experience. Working
knowledge of ACEND standards for DPD and DI programs.
Note: If the successful candidate is master's prepared, the
position will be filled as a non-tenure track, instructor. If a
successful candidate holds a terminal degree, the position will be
filled as a tenure-track, assistant professor and have
responsibilities commensurate with an assistant professor, to
include research and creative activities.
