About the Opportunity:
The College or Arts, Media and Design is hiring a Director of Marketing & Communications.

Responsibilities:
The Director of Marketing & Communications in Northeastern University's College of Arts, Media and Design (CAMD) leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategic communications and marketing operation to promote and strengthen the visibility, stature, and reputation of the college and actively position it with its key constituents and critical audiences. Working closely with the Dean, senior leadership, and Department and Center Directors, the Director of Marketing & Communications develops and executes annual strategic communications plans and calendars; develops communications and marketing plans in collaboration with internal admissions and fundraising teams and the Northeastern Center for the Arts, Center for Design, Center for Communications, New Media and Social Change, etc; and manages the implementation of branding/identity, social media and marketing projects, including collateral and digital asset generation, writing, editing and proofreading, with scrupulous attention to timelines, deadlines, and Northeastern's positioning guidelines.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred. Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Public Relations preferred. Knowledge of evolving digital communications and marketing industry trends required. Minimum of seven years of prior work experience preferred in marketing and communications, preferably in a competitive higher education, non-profit, or agency setting, including experience pitching stories, successfully launching social media campaigns, creating publicity and raising profile around faculty, news and events. Experience in developing and executing effective digital marketing strategies is critical. Also must have extensive experience developing print and electronic web based marketing collateral for both broad and targeted audiences. A self-motivated, detail-oriented professional who possess the ability to think strategically and can interact professionally to develop relationships with a diverse range of constituencies. Excellent organizational and team leadership skills, strong customer service orientation, and ability to work effectively in an independent and interdependent setting. Must be able to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines and to be able to work well in a complex organization.
