About the Opportunity:
Northeastern University is looking for a creative, driven individual to play an active role in producing content for the digital platforms associated with the award-winning university news team. The Digital Producer must have command of WordPress and content management systems and the ability to package and present content across all platforms, with an emphasis on websites, including SEO, and email newsletters. The successful candidate is a team player who thrives in a fast-paced work environment, coordinating with editors, reporters, videographers, social media content producers, photographers, and designers. The ability to think and act quickly while maintaining accuracy and representing Northeastern University at the highest level, is crucial. The Digital Producer must have strong writing and editing skills, knowledge of AP style and excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
Typical job duties include building the daily News@Northeastern email newsletter; packaging stories for digital publication; optimizing assets for SEO and for distribution on multiple platforms; and managing workflow to meet tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess excellent news judgment and be able to contribute across functions, including writing and social media. The Digital Media Producer is on the front lines of News @ Northeastern, executing high-level digital strategy and helping the rest of the newsroom to do the same.

Reporting to the Director of Digital News and Social Media, this position is part of the Office of Communications on the Boston campus and is not eligible for remote work. After-hours work, including weekends and holidays, is routinely required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
1-3 years of experience in digital media or marketing.
Mastery of WordPress, e-mail marketing and content management systems.
Excellent writing and copy-editing skills, with the ability to target content to applicable audiences and strong knowledge of AP style.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining speed and consistency.
Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and emerging trends.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work well under pressure.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-starter with the ability to be proactive and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with graphic design and the Adobe suite of creative products preferred, but not required.
