About the Opportunity:
In this role, the Assistant Director provides a high level of service and program support to an array of diverse student organizations and is required to work closely with leadership and campus partners to ensure the successful implementation of programming initiatives and priorities.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Sr. Associate Director of the Center for Student Involvement (CSI), the Assistant Director is responsible for supporting CSI in the following ways:

The Assistant Director oversees the planning and execution of several Signature events that originate within the Center for Student Involvement (CSI), and ensures these events meet student needs and are successfully enhanced each year. Examples of annual events include: Fall Fest and the CSI Student Life Awards. Successful administration of these events must promote accessibility through various technologies in addition to in-person components. This person will lead initiatives centered on virtual platforms to improve global access to signature programming. As the supervisor a team of Student Engagement Specialists, the Assistant Director will support his/her/their direct reports with the management and execution of student-driven initiatives. Finally, as a program manager, the Assistant Director is responsible for working closely with the Office of the General Counsel, NUPD, Risk Services, Facilities and a multitude of other campus partners who play a role in making our robust student life program a successful experience.

Qualifications:
A master's degree in higher education/student affairs (or related field) is preferred with at least 4-6 years of demonstrated experience coordinating and executing large scale events. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience supervising full time staff. In order to perform the job, the incumbent will possess decision making authority over major projects and must be comfortable making decisions autonomously. The successful candidate must have excellent problem-solving skills and exceptional interpersonal, organizational, verbal/written communication skills as well as demonstrated skills and knowledge in virtual event planning. The Assistant Director must be able to work independently on a fast-paced, global campus and possess a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. As a member of the Division of Student Affairs, the Assistant Director will align their work with the established mission, vision, and literacies of the division. Frequent nights and weekends may be required to ensure the success of divisional initiatives.
