About the Opportunity:
The Project Manager is a key role within the Communications department at Northeastern University. The Project Manager is a creative and versatile problem-solver with a skillset encompassing communications, public relations, data gathering and analysis, designing and assembling reports and presentations to showcase progress and success across projects, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The Project Manager is a curious and resourceful talent who can handle a variety of different tasks with precision from the beginning stages all the way through successful execution.

This position is located on Northeastern's Boston campus and is not eligible for remote work. Experience in higher education is not necessary.

Responsibilities:
He/she/they are responsible for handling projects that include design, development and dissemination of promotional content around events; event planning and execution across digital platforms and in-person venues; assisting with digital aspects of projects and events including video production, livestream planning and coordination, and social media initiatives and campaigns.

He/she/they gather and report out data and information for various stakeholder groups, including External Affairs leadership; write content for digital environments; create narratives and presents data in visual and creative ways for reports and presentations; collaborates to ideate and execute internal and external communications strategies for key stakeholder groups; and handle multiple projects at any given times with speed and accuracy.

Reporting to the Vice President for Communications, the Project Manager collaborates with colleagues across External Affairs, including departmental leadership, and works closely with storytellers, multimedia and social media professionals in Communications, and with colleagues across the university. He/she/they also play a key role in selecting, hiring and managing third-party vendors for events and other projects.

As it is the case for every member of the Communications team, the Project Manager is expected to be responsive outside of regular business hours, and occasionally work on assignments in the evenings and on weekends, as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-4 years of experience managing projects at for or nonprofit brands
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with planning and executing digital and in-person events
  • Familiarity with data analytics
  • Experience with preparing reports and presentations
  • Experience with social media and digital platforms
  • Familiarity with public relations and communications strategies
