About the Opportunity:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director - Academic Advising, this position delivers holistic, inclusive, developmental, and student-focused academic advising to undergraduate students in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences including identifying students' interests, abilities, and academic goals and in making decisions regarding their academic career.

Responsibilities:
Academic Advisors assist in identifying struggling or at-risk students including making appropriate referrals to other college resources; schedule building, registration assistance, add/drop or withdrawal assistance, and major declaration; maintain detailed student records; participates in recruitment activities, programs, and initiatives including providing advising information to prospective students and orientation advising; participates in departmental and committee meetings as appropriate for supporting assigned students; develops and coordinates relationships with various offices on campus to better serve students; facilitates multiple sections of the First Year Experience course. The Academic Advisor works to foster a welcoming, nurturing, and belonging environment for all students, including those underrepresented in the computer sciences.

Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Social Work, or other relevant fields; experience working with diverse student populations; excellent oral and written communication skills; understanding of educational requirements and advising processes; demonstrated technology proficiency with various software applications; strong organizational skills; experience working as part of a team.
