Learning & Development Consultant

About the Opportunity:
The Learning & Development Consultant provides consulting advice and project management for learning and development programs and initiatives. He/ she serves as a key resource for training plan design and development and creates programs for new systems or organizational process changes. Working with vendors, partners, and colleagues, he/ she will create, identify and sometimes facilitate, learning and development programs and initiatives and manage the quarterly programming of learning & development for the community.

The Learning & Development Consultant researches and evaluates training and development tools and delivery methods and recommends creative and strategic methods to support learning initiatives. He/she develops content and materials for specific training programs and takes the lead in engaging internal leadership in the leadership development programming and coaching. The consultant will be instrumental in ensuring that each intervention has clearly articulated measures of success, including knowledge transfer and behavior change.

This position is responsible for managing the learning knowledge base on the HR Service Center; creating user manuals, quick reference guides, and “how-to” videos; managing training events, and troubleshooting and coordinating trainer needs. This position will be the point person for the upcoming learning module design and implementation in Workday.

Responsibilities:

Facilitation of Learning through the Workday Learning Module:
  • Work to identify the needs of various stakeholders for the learning module of Workday.

  • Design the structure and make up of the LMS and identify ways to align learning data to the overall employee data set and links to careers and talent development tools.

  • Engage in designing the full cycle of learning from assessment & design through evaluation while using the LMS and its new automated processes.

  • Facilitate programming; small group discussions; and some online sessions to assist in diversifying the training team's voice and experience

  • Design, develop and deliver training in support of the current needs and competencies.

  • Co-facilitate workshops and programs related to leadership and performance

    Course Design/ Vendor Management/ Program Management:
  • Join HR projects and initiatives to determine training needs; document workflows and processes; help to create training materials and manage training rollouts.

  • Partner in the creation of quarterly professional and leadership development opportunities. Identify and select the right mix of programming using vendor, facilitator, format and interest to meet the organization's needs.

  • Identify and manage leadership development programs - supporting the nomination; program design and redesign initiatives; communications & evaluations needs; and internal leadership engagement.

  • Partner with HRBPs, leaders and other key stakeholders to identify and offer support for specific training or professional development needs.

    Results Reporting/ Relationships /Communications:
  • Manage the production of the HR L&OD metrics and scorecard.

  • Develop plans, strategies and reports in support of key initiatives

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with human resources partners

  • Provide guidance to effectively market & deliver programs offered

  • Partner to keep HR/ L&OD and other departments' sites and knowledge articles updated to reflect current offerings and promote HR resources

    Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of experience in instructional design, human resources management, training and development, or related fields.

  • Skilled in teaching and facilitating training courses and in preparing instructional materials.

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization. Superior customer focus and service orientation a must.

  • Must be able to design, develop, implement and evaluate training plans, curricula and methodology.

  • Ability to determine training needs and consult on alternatives to meet business needs.
