About the Opportunity:
Founded in 1922, the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University offers a unique model of business education that purposely blends innovative classroom learning with real-world business application. At the undergraduate level, both the BS in Business Administration and the BS in International Business programs offer students the opportunity to develop into highly motivated business leaders. Graduate students and corporate learners can choose from several different certificate and full-time and part-time MBA and MS programs designed to enable motivated professionals to accelerate their success in business. The school is committed to embedding a global mindset into all of these programs, as well as in its research and outreach activities.
Responsibilities:
The D'Amore-McKim School of Business is looking for a highly-motivated and talented individual to fill the role of Faculty Training and Development Coordinator. The Faculty Training and Development Coordinator works as a member of the Instructional Design Group (IDG) by supporting and promoting faculty/staff use of academic technology. Additionally, the FTDC will be responsible for assisting with customized faculty/staff training, project management, data analytics, evidence-based course design (online, hybrid, and traditional learning environments), and researching/piloting the latest trends and tools.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred) and at least one year of experience working in instructional design, academic technology support, faculty/staff development, or teaching in an educational or professional setting.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in using technology to promote faculty/staff efficiency and positive learning outcomes.
- Experience in assisting professional audiences and a demonstrated ability to develop a positive rapport with those audiences through professionalism and problem-solving skills.
- Extensive working knowledge on an LMS platform (Canvas preferred) and other academic technologies that promote collaboration, interactivity, active and reflective learning, and critical thinking.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts in non-technical language and to think critically about relevance of technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively or independently, take initiative, articulate solutions, and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technologies and apply them in an educational setting.
- History of using learning analytics to assist in making evidence-based decisions.
