About the Opportunity:
The Institute for the Wireless Internet of Things (WIoT) is seeking a Marketing Communication Coordinator. For more information: https://www.northeastern.edu/wiot/

Responsibilities:
The Marketing Communication Coordinator will direct, develop and disseminate all media communications efforts for the Institute for the Wireless Internet of Things (WIoT). This includes working with the WIoT Institute Director to develop and implement a WIoT marketing and communications strategy for the Institute, carrying out that strategy, and quantifying efforts through basic marketing analytics. The Marketing Communication Coordinator's primary responsibility will be the production of marketing efforts. They will possess a background in marketing products or services, and designing marketing materials related to digital and social media, print, event promotion and general communications. To achieve this, the Marketing Communication Coordinator must possess superior writing and editing skills. They will collaborate on joint initiatives and coordinate marketing efforts with the College of Engineering (COE) marketing and communications team, as well as Northeastern University's marketing and communications department. In addition, they will work with the WIoT Program Manager who will assist in gathering and creating department-specific marketing content for marketing output, such as print material, web stories, social media and event promotion. The Marketing Communication Coordinator will work closely with the WIoT Institute Director in determining the basic strategic direction of all marketing and communications efforts. They will also work together on special projects determined by the Director. The Marketing Communication Coordinator is expected to have a deep understanding of WIoT Institute activity within the context of university activity. The Marketing Communication Coordinator may be asked to supervise work study students from the College of Arts and Media Design, who assist with graphic design and photography. This position will report to the WIoT Institute Director.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree with 4 - 6 years of Higher Education experience | Excellent writing and editing skills that engage readers and stakeholders across web and social media platforms. | Experience with the following software/tools: HTML, content management systems for web (particularly drupal) and newsletters, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) | Excellent interpersonal skills, leading to effective communication and interaction with faculty, staff, students, freelancers and vendors. | Excellent creative, conceptual and technical troubleshooting skills, leading to effective problem solving. | Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to work with multiple projects simultaneously, tight schedules, deadlines and budgets, and the capacity to succeed in an environment of rapidly moving and changing priorities. | Self-starter who enjoys providing administrative support to dynamic and complex groups of faculty, students, and staff. | Must be flexible, enthusiastic, open to and energized by change.
