Multicultural Center Assistant Director (Program Coordinator)

  • Responsibilities:
    The Multicultural Center Coordinator's main functions include the coordination of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion education, events and retention initiatives. This position also assists with marketing and communications.
    • Increases Diversity, Equity and Inclusion education development for the student population through workshops, maintenance of the MCC library collection and other related projects.
    • Coordinates and collaborates with campus partners to promote retention and inclusion efforts especially among MCC student organizations.
    • Plans and implements events that promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with the primary focus on collaborating with graduate assistant development.
    • Oversees marketing and communications including social media, electronic/printed materials, and the MCC website.
    • Oversees the identification and development of grants and development opportunities.
    • Serves as facility manager for the Multicultural Center; responsible for managing the library, reserving space and equipment for internal and external units, and overseeing equipment set-up and break-down, conducts routine walkthroughs to ensure building is safe and well maintained.
    • Researches current best practices and provides recommendations to the Director for implementation. Assesses programming for effectiveness.
  • Required Qualifications:
    1. Masters Degree in Women's Studies, Ethnic Studies, Latin American Studies, Gender Studies, African American Studies, Sociology, Education, Social Work, or any related field.
    2. A total of (1) year working experience with diverse and historically underrepresented populations and in-depth knowledge of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, specifically the LGBTQ+ community
    3. Working knowledge of event programming practices, education and program development
    4. Knowledge of social network media and marketing practices
    5. Ability to successfully plan, implement, and execute programs relevant to the mission of the Multicultural Center
  • Starting Salary: $3052/month
