About the Opportunity:
The Chung Laboratory in the Department of Bioengineering is seeking
a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on an image processing
project. The research group is interested in improving widefield
microscopy images of fluorescent neurons in the nematode worm, C.
The successful candidate will lead an effort to improve imaging by
computational techniques. Develop code to implement a novel
procedure for removing stray light from microscope images. Assist
the supervisor in the interpretation and publication of results and
grants. Maintain the laboratory and may exercise functional
supervision over supporting research staff and mentorship for
graduate students in image processing methods. Primary
responsibility is ensuring that the research is complete.
Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in image analysis and processing;
be able to undertake substantially full-time research or
scholarship; work under the supervision of a senior scholar;
extensive experience with MATLAB is required; strong communication
skills and ability to work independently.
Experience with ImageJ and NIS Elements preferred.
